The Oriental Daily (Malaysia) Open Pickleball Tournament is a premier national pickleball event bringing together players from across Malaysia to compete in a professionally managed, high-energy tournament environment.

Featuring multiple competitive categories — from Junior to Open divisions — the tournament provides a structured platform for both emerging and experienced players to showcase their skills. With a total cash & prize pool of RM100,000, the event reflects the growing stature and competitive depth of pickleball in Malaysia.

🏁 Tournament Format

• Group Stage: Round Robin within each group
  
• Top 2 teams from each group advance to Single Elimination Knockout rounds
  
• Minor format adjustments may be made based on final participation numbers
  
• All categories may have seeded players based on DUPR rating and Tournament Director discretion

🔢 Tie-Breaking Criteria (Group Stage)

If teams are tied on win–loss record, ranking will be determined by:

1. Total Point Differential (Points Scored – Points Conceded)
   
2. Head-to-Head Result (if exactly two teams tied)
   
3. Coin Toss (if required)

🎯 DUPR Regulations

This is a DUPR-rated tournament. All match results will be submitted to DUPR.

For all DUPR-rated categories:

• A valid DUPR ID must be submitted during registration
  
• Multiple DUPR accounts are strictly prohibited
  
• Deliberate manipulation of DUPR ratings (including submission of false matches) will result in disqualification and reporting to DUPR
  
• Players with no rating or under 10% reliability may participate at the Tournament Director’s discretion
  

These guidelines have been reviewed in alignment with DUPR standards.

👤 Player Eligibility & Appeals

• Players aged 16 and below may request participation in adult categories subject to Tournament Director approval
  
• Eligibility appeals must be submitted via the official appeal form
• https://events.baseline.my/odappeal
• RM100 deposit required (refundable if appeal is upheld)
  
• Tournament Committee decisions are final

Players may be subject to eligibility checks before, during, or after the tournament.

If violations are discovered:

• Group Stage: Disqualification and match results voided
  
• Knockout Stage: Disqualification; replacement rules apply where possible
  
• Post-Tournament: Results and awards may be revoked
  

Players are responsible for providing accurate registration information.
